Quick facts
A snapshot of who I am and what I do, before you dive into the full story below.
Why Jirani Web Hub exists
Kelvin Kariuki Mwangi — known professionally as Kariuki Mwangi — first got curious about websites the way a lot of builders do: by wanting to fix something that felt broken. Scrolling through business pages for local shops, salons and restaurants around Nairobi, he kept noticing the same gap — talented, hardworking entrepreneurs represented online by slow, outdated or nonexistent websites that undersold everything they had built offline.
That gap became curiosity, and curiosity became a craft. He taught himself web development from the ground up — HTML, CSS and JavaScript, then the practical realities of what Kenyan businesses actually need: fast-loading pages, mobile-first design, and payment systems people already trust, like M-Pesa. Every new skill was tested immediately on real projects for real business owners, which meant early lessons came fast and stuck.
"A business should never lose a customer because its website couldn't keep up with its ambition."
That belief is why Jirani Web Hub was founded. Not as a generic web agency, but as a digital partner built specifically for the way African businesses operate — where trust is earned face-to-face before it's ever extended online, where WhatsApp and M-Pesa are part of the sales process, and where a website has to work as hard as the business owner does.
Kariuki focuses on Kenyan and African businesses because that is the market he understands from the inside — its opportunities, its constraints, and its untapped potential. He believes every business, regardless of size or budget, deserves an online presence that reflects the quality of what they actually offer. Trust matters because a website is often a stranger's first impression of a business; if it feels unfinished or unreliable, that impression sticks. Jirani Web Hub exists to make sure that first impression is a strong one.

Why I do what I do
I've seen too many great businesses undersell themselves online — not because their product or service was lacking, but because their website didn't reflect the quality of what they actually do. That gap between real-world excellence and digital first impressions is what drives every project I take on.
I do this work because I believe a well-built website isn't a cost — it's an investment in how a business is perceived, trusted, and remembered. Every business, no matter its size, deserves that chance.
